Italian Braised Chicken Featuring Nello's Marinara Sauce

Welcome to A Sampling Bee! Today, I share with you new recipe that my family has tried recently. I made Italian Braised Chicken with Fennel and Cannellini Beans. This recipe features my favorite sauce- Nello's Marinara! Yum!

Italian Braised Chicken with Fennel and Cannellini Beans with Nello's Marinara Sauce
2 pounds skinless drumsticks and or thighs
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 15 ounce can cannellini beans rinsed and drained
1 bulb fennel, cored and cut into thin wedges
1 medium sweet yellow pepper, seeded and cut into 1-inch pieces
1 medium onion, cut into small wedges
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon snipped fresh parsley
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1/4 cup shaved Parmesan cheese
  1. Sprinkle chicken with 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper. Place chicken in a 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker. Top with cannellini beans, fennel, sweet pepper, onion, garlic, rosemary and crushed red pepper. Pour 1 jar of Nello's Marinara Sauce over mixture in cooker.
  2. Cover; cook on low-heat setting for 5 to 6 hours or on high-heat setting for 2 1/2 to 3. Sprinkle each serving with Parmesan Cheese and parsley.
Makes 6 servings. Enjoy!

I am a Mombassador for Nello's! Nello's sauces are amazing and it is so much fun to be able to experiment and try new things with the sauces. This recipe was effortless. I cooked it on low in a crock pot and the chicken came out super tender and flavorful. The sauce seeped into the chicken and made it taste so yummy. This recipe would be perfect for a holiday dinner or for a quick weekday dinner. All you need to do it throw all of the ingredients into a crock pot and turn it on!
